Introduction[]
Earth, the cradle of Humanity, is located in the Sol System, one of the most heavily guarded systems in the galaxy. While the Sol system has a rather large number of planets, the only unusual world located in the Sol System is Earth itself.
Planets[]
Planet Title | Population | Moons | Summary | Image |
---|---|---|---|---|
Mercury | ~ | ~ | The second hottest world in the Sol System, average temperature is around 184 degrees Celsius. | |
Venus | 11,674,341 | ~ | By far the hottest world in the Sol System, almost entirely due to the runaway greenhouse gas effect in the atmosphere. Average temperature is around 489 degrees Celcius. | |
Earth | 25,645,242,675 | 1 | The homeworld of Humanity, and by far the most heavily populated world under Human control. | |
Mars | 6,777,783,611 | 2 | Image pre-terraformingMars was the first planet humanity settled on after they left Earth. Mars had long been a desert, but it as terraformed into a second earth in only 100 years. | |
Jupiter | 45,875,151 | 63 | The largest planet in the Sol System, and the planet with the most moons, Jupiter has long been an icon for its size, even in comparison to it's home star. | |
Saturn | 23,139,725 | 31 | Although only about half the mass of Jupiter, Saturn has a very similar volume. It is also notable due to it's massive ring system which can be seen even with primitive telescopes. | |
Uranus | ~ | 26 | The slightly larger of the two ice giants in the Sol System, Uranus also is notable because of its title, which has long since been the source to many dumb astronomy jokes. | |
Neptune | ~ | 13 | While very similar to Uranus, it is slightly smaller and has fewer interesting features. There is however, an iconic black streak along the side of the equator. | |
Pluto | ~ | 5 | One of the more interesting dwarf planets, mainly to its mysteriousness until the early 21st century. The dwarf planet is also notable for it's large moon, charon. | |
Haumea | ~ | 2 | Although widely known for it's egg-shaped structure, very little is actually known about this dwarf planet. There is an abandoned platinum mine on the northern pole of the world. | |
Makemake | ~ | ~ | Very little is known about Makemake even in this day in age. Scientists have just found the planet to be nearly identical to the other dwarf planets in the system, so it has barely been studied before. | |
Eris | ~ | 1 | The last large object directly orbiting Sol, this is the furthest natural object with a diameter greater than 100km. |
